The Challenge
System Logistics was seeking available software engineers to integrate their in-house team and to customize the core functionalities of a warehouse control solution provided for one of the company’s customers. The skills they were looking for included a solid background in Java and a strong understanding of business processes in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) field.
Upon a recommendation from one of our customers, System Logistics approached ISD for a collaboration.
“The project was a great opportunity to combine our experience and knowledge in delivering WMS end solutions. I really enjoyed working with our German colleagues, it was a pleasure to get to know them better in person during our visits.”

The Solution
System Logistics is the general contractor for a high-bay warehouse located in Bristol, UK. The company provides a warehouse control solution for their customer, including warehouse management and a material flow part for the conveyor system, stacker cranes and monorail. Collaborating with System Logistics’ software engineers, the ISD team participated in customizing the core features of the WMS, according to the previously agreed-upon customer needs and requirements.
A tech stack of Java, Spring, Gradle, Hibernate, ActiveMQ, and MS SQL was used for the delivery of the solution. The team mainly worked in an Agile environment, implementing and delivering new features in every Sprint (two-weeks iterations).
During the collaboration, the System Logistics and ISD teams met offline in both Germany and Moldova, managing to make their workflows smoother and improving communication and effectiveness.
