About the company & IPA project
Inther Group is an international hybrid system integrator, specialized in automation solutions for picking, packing, storage and sorting goods in warehouses worldwide for customers in fine-meshed distribution.
Inther requested ISD support for the implementation of IPA project that aims to optimize and consolidate the logistics project operations in a single system and create synergies that reduce the overall cost of the project.
The Challenge
The main goal of the IPA project was to establish a system that would improve and optimize the implementation of an intralogistics project. A project in intralogistics usually involves a series of complex operations and interventions at different stages, like engineering design, PLC engineering, software development etc.
The need was to develop a system that would improve the processes, thus reducing costs and time for the implementation of a project in intralogistics.
The Result
The system optimizes the coding time and reduces human interaction, thus errors that might occur. There are 3 components the system is based on: 1) a dashboard – main web app used to configure the data library and work with the data imported from plugins, export it for the own needs of users, 2) the AutoCAD plugin – used to retrieve data from ACAD layout and importing it to IPA and 3) TIA Service – used for generating PLC code based on data library and data from ACAD.
The Solution
The main challenges and solution that were analyzed were related to:
- Autocad data extraction and re-usage
- Generation of PLC basic code
- E-plan (mechanical & electrical engineering) scheme
- Basic modules (conveyers) storage base and reuse tool
- One single environment to store and move the project data and
perform project operations - Bill of Materials/Sales list generation
The developed system included all these components improvement. It facilitates the information flow during the project, through data importing, format conversion, data storage, and display in different forms for different groups of users from different departments involved in the logistic project operations, such as design, PLC automation, mechanical & electrical engineering etc.
3 Backend Developers, 2 Frontend Developers, 1 QA, 1 UX Designer were involved in the implementation of the project.
DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT IN MIND?Let's Get In Touch
F.A.Q.
Do you have additional questions?
The process of onboarding and hiring is different from project to project, but on average we start our projects in about 2-3 months.
All ISD people hold either graduate or post-graduate degrees and all of them are fluent in English. Our talents conduct courses at the Technical University of Moldova and also, they mentor various educational programs for IT specialists. Our developers are certified by Oracle, Cisco, Microsoft & other providers.
Definitely! We encourage our customers to have virtual meetings with the candidates and visit the ISD office to meet the entire team.
All our employees and partners signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and we also sign an NDA with our customers. Thus, all employees involved in a project, are bound to discretion and confidentiality.
We believe in long term partnerships, and we aim to establish a relationship based on trust and full commitment. We have developed internal programs to increase the technical capabilities of our developers and team leads, but also their capacity to establish a strong communication with our customers in order to understand better their needs and expectation. And ultimately, for every engagement we assign a delivery lead, who’s primary goal is to ensure high quality of our services and customer satisfaction in general.
